DAVAO CITY – The Office of First Congressional District Representative Paolo Z. Duterte has noted 27 hired-on-the-spot on its 3rd Virtual Job Fair held at St. John Paul II College of Davao on February 28, Monday afternoon. 

Larry Barn Baltazar, an operator for the City’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Information System, said the First Congressional District Office has coordinated with the PESO to hold another virtual job fair for job seekers.

Baltazar said that 5,416 job seekers registered onsite, but the participating employers interviewed only hundreds during the job fair. He added that 1,380 job vacancies wait for those competent job seekers.

Those who were hired include encoders, sales representatives, helpers, and baggers. Meanwhile, customer service champions, cashiers, sales supervisors, auto mechanics, marketing coordinators, web developers, and merchandisers are among the many vacancies posted in the event venue.

Among the employers who participated in the event were SM Supermarket from Ecoland Branch and Lanang Branch, the 3ME, Sonic Sales, Sutherland Global Services Philippines, Davao Manpower Incorporated (DMI), and VXI Global Holdings Inc.

Rep. Duterte earlier underscored that they utilized an online platform to provide opportunities and assistance to those who are still unemployed and those who lost their jobs, following the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The First Congressional District Office recognized the resilience of the employers, employees, and job seekers amid the pandemic. They thanked their partner agencies for the support of the event and the St. John Paul II College for offering their facilities as the venue for virtual job fair.
