DAVAO CITY – The office of the First Congressional District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte extended on Friday, July 16, cash assistance and rice packs to the fire victims in Barangay 38-D, this city.

Rep. Duterte's office gave cash assistance and a 10-kilogram sack of rice to each of the three house owners, two sharers, four renters, and nine boarders at Purok 2 in 38-D, Rizal Extension.

Barangay captain Mila Pagal-arabis thanked the First Congressional District Office for their assistance to the affected families.

Fire Officer 3 Aries Pizarras, of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Davao City, said the fire began in the kitchen of one of the victims. He added that four houses were consumed by fire. 

A house owner from Purok 23 in Catalunan fire incident also received the same aid. The assistance was handed to the victim by a representative from the office on the same day.

The district office has been giving food packs to its constituents and other areas of Davao City where people need immediate assistance even amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.
